Welcome to Chile! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by one of our local Travelous, English-speaking representatives who will be holding a sign with your name printed on it. Your representative will accompany you to your hotel and assist you with check-in.

The vibrant city of Santiago displays a fascinating contrast of architecture with sprawling colonial buildings set against towering skyscrapers. Old meets new here in this Bohemian paradise, nestled at the feet of the Andes and proudly displaying lush gardens, public art and countless espresso and wine bars.

Explore Santiago like a native. Your authentic Santiago tour will begin with a subway ride to the University of Chile station in the center of the city. Weave your way through the pedestrian city promenade, visiting emblematic buildings such as "La Moneda" (Government Palace) and the elaborate Santiago Stock Exchange. Continue to the beautiful Plaza de Armas in the heart of the city, adorned with coconut palms and featuring stunning neoclassical and colonial architecture. Grab lunch at the bustling Farmers Market of Vega Central. Afterwards, visit the bohemian Bellavista neighborhood and taste a classic Chilean drink before heading up San Cristobal Hill for a panoramic view.

Santiago

Travel towards the Pacific Coast, through the valley of Casablanca, known for its vineyards, wine tasting at one of its vineyards. On arrival at the coast, visit the town of Vina del Mar with its pretty parks and floral ornaments. Continue to the picturesque port of Valparaiso, founded in the XVI century. The oldest part of town was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2003. The town is built on many hills which are accessed by narrow streets, long stairways and a series of lifts which were built towards the end of the XIX Century. Later we will visit Nobel Poet Pablo Neruda's house, La Sebastiana, before returning to Santiago.

Santiago - Puerto Varas

Transfer from the airport of Puerto Montt to Puerto Varas.

Begin today"s tour of Puerto Varas, also known as The City of the Roses, with a visit to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Built in Baroque Style it's an exact replica of a church in Black Forest, Germany, the hometown of many colonizers who settled in Chile starting in 1852. Afterwards, take a stroll downtown by the shore of the beautiful Llanquihue Kake and weather-permitting; catch a glimpse of the Osorno Volcano.

Continue along the Pan-American road to Puerto Montt where we begin with a visit to the highest place in Puerto Montt city, where you"ll get the best view of the city, the ocean and Tenglo Island. From there, head to the German Monument located in the Main Square and the Cathedral, witnessing the German influence in the architecture of the houses, garden and buildings, and the mix of both cultures. Continue to Angelmo, known Hand Crafts and Central Market. Witness how the fresh seafood arrives from the boats to the buyers. Also see typical cooking places, which are basically restaurants where you can find sea food, fish and other delicious specialties..

Day 4
Puerto Varas

We depart Puerto Varas to Pargua to board a ferry to Chacao, spotting sea wolves, pelicans and sea birds along the way. Arriving in Chacao we will see houses built of Alerce wood, and the churches that are a National Heritage site, later we continue to Dalcahue, a city is located in front of Quinchao Island, along the Coast there is a special Palafito Market that receives the name Palafito, because it was uniquely constructed over water.

Later we continue to Castro the capital of Chiloe Island, where from the Gamboa viewing point we can see the world famous Palafitos. Visit the San Francisco church in front of the Main Square and the biggest Handcraft Market on the island. On the way back visit Ancud city, where we can see the San Antonio Fort one of the last Spanish fortifications in Chile, the local Museum, the Maine Square, and the Central Market which offers a variety of local eateries.

Day 5
Puerto Varas

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your trip leaving the city of Puerto Varas bordering Lake Llanquihue, along the Fish River all the way to Ensenada, a small town where you will start the ascent.

Stop to visit different sites, such as La Burbuja Crater and Mirador Los Pumas viewpoint until you reach the Ski Center and Mountain Osorno Volcano, located at 4,068 ft. There you will explore the viewpoints, enjoy the landscape and appreciate a unique view of the Calbuco Volcano and Lake Llanquihue. Hike on the slopes of Osorno Volcano, across its forests and ancient traces of rivers of lava.

After your hike, explore the wonderful Water Falls of the Petrohue River in the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park. A gentle walk along a marked pathway leads to the falls, which tumble over a lip of volcanic rock, the waters turning shades of blue and green. The falls are surrounded by thick native forest and the Osorno Volcano can be seen towering over this amazing scenery.

Puerto Montt - Punta Arenas

Tour Magdalena Island, located in the center of the Strait of Magellan, 35 kilometers north of the City of Punta Arenas. The excursion itself begins through the waters of the mythical Strait for two and a half hours, cutting through the same navigation route of the most daring explorers in the world, such as, Sir Francis Drake, Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa, Hernando de Magallanes and Charles Darwin, among others. Upon arrival, walk through thousands of penguins that await you. The trail takes visitors to the lighthouse, from where visitors can see panoramic views dominating the island and surrounding areas.

Punta Arenas - Ushuaia

Transfer in private vehicle with English speaking driver from the hotel to the pier.

Check in at 1385 O"Higgins Street (Arturo Prat Port), between 13:00 and 17:00. Board the M/V Via Australis or M/V Stella Australis cruise ship at 18:00. After a welcome cocktail enjoy a reception hosted by the Captain and crew, the ship will depart for one of the remotest parts of the planet. Our trip will take us through the Strait of Magellan and Beagle Channel to explore one of the most breathtaking wilderness regions in the world: Southern Patagonia, which includes the Tierra del Fuego archipelago.

Day 8
Ushuaia - Tuckers Islet

At dawn, we will navigate our way through Almirantazgo Sound, arriving at Ainsworth Bay which is sited within Alberto De Agostini National Park. It"s the perfect spot from which to see the Marinelli Glacier descending from Darwin Mountain Range in the distance; and to appreciate how the land returns to life after glacial retreat.

Walk to a beaver dam in the stunning sub-polar Magellan Forest. Whether on the beach or the island, there"s a good chance of sighting Southern Elephant Seals. But do bear in mind the fact that sightings cannot be guaranteed due to the colony"s unpredictable movements.

Later, we sail to Tuckers Islets, and after lunch, we will board well-equipped Zodiac boats to get close to a colony of Magellan Penguins (indigenous to the Southern Hemisphere) and cormorants.* In September and April, this excursion is replaced by a short walk to a nearby glacier at Brookes Bay

Ushuaia - Glacier Alley

We navigate along the northwest arm of the Beagle Channel before disembarking at Pia Fjord. From there, a short hike to a panoramic viewpoint from where we can enjoy spectacular views of the awe-inspiring Pia Glacier whose main tongue extends from the mountaintops down to the sea.

After this memorable experience, we will continue our voyage along the Beagle Channel through the majestic Glacier Alley.

Ushuaia - Wulaia Bay

During the morning we will be sailing through Murray Channel, going ashore at historical Wulaia Bay, originally the site of one of the region"s largest Yamana aboriginal settlements. Charles Darwin landed there in 1833 during his voyage on the HMS Beagle. This area is also renowned for the mesmerizing beauty of its vegetation and geography. We will take an enchanted walk through the Magellan Forest of lengas, coig\u252\'fces, canelos, ferns, and other endemic vegetation, to reach a panoramic viewpoint. In the afternoon we will go South through Nassau Bay to reach Cape Horn National Park, where, weather permitting, we shall go ashore. The legendary Cape Horn was discovered in 1616 and is a sheer 425-meter (1,394-foot) high rocky promontory. For many years it was an important navigation route between the Pacific and the Atlantic, and is referred to as the "End of the Earth". The park was declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2005.

Discover the beauty and wonders of Buenos Aires through the highlights of the city, including Plaza de Mayo with Casa Rosada (Government building) and the Metropolitan Cathedral. This astounding building has an incredible mix of architectural styles with an 18th century nave and dome and a neoclassical facade. The Mausoleum of General San Martin is also found here, guarded by three statues representing Argentina, Peru and Chile. You will also visit the widest avenue in South America, the awe-inspiring 9 de Julio Avenue, followed by a stop at the historic neighborhoods of La Boca and Recoleta.

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
