Welcome to Dubai! Upon Arrival at the Dubai Airport Terminal, you will be met and assisted by a Marhaba Meet and Greet Services representative. This service has been carefully selected for you, keeping in mind the necessity for luxury and care. Afterwards, you will be escorted through the airport related formalities and immigration via a dedicated fast track counter.

Our Travelous representative and personal chauffeur will be waiting for you in the arrival area holding a sign with your name on it. While you are transported to the hotel, your driver will point out some important landmarks of Dubai. A refreshing welcome drink with Arabic dates is served at the hotel upon arrival.

Head out into the Arabian Desert and feel the adrenalin as your driver takes you on a roller coaster ride of off-roading and dune bashing before stopping on a high to watch a magical sunset! You will then drive to a Bedouin camp where you will settle in for the evening to the sounds of Arabic music and a display of Arabic tradition. Enjoy the rhythmic music while grabbing drinks from the bar. Ladies might choose to have their hands painted with beautiful designs drawn by henna artists while men try the "sheesha" (hookah), popularly known as the hubbly-bubbly. End the evening with a sumptuous barbeque dinner and a belly dance show performed by an expert dancer. Return to the hotel by 4x4 vehicles after an incredibly memorable evening! After breakfast, begin your Dubai Old City tour day with a visit to Bastakiya, an area of Dubai on the Bur Dubai side of the Dubai Creek that date back to the 1890s, where residents originally earned money from pearl diving. Bastakiya is named after the Iranian town of Bastak - many of the original traders in Bastakia were from Iran. Receive an entertaining account of UAE"s history with Moez Toumi, an award winning trainer & guide in Dubai. The Bastakia Quarter, which squeezes itself between the Dubai Creek and the buzzing Bur Dubai district, is a mini maze of wind-towered buildings, a clutch of which have been transformed into art galleries and cafes.

At 1pm, you will be taken to enjoy a cultural lunch at The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, where you can experience the ambience of a traditional setting while learning the customs behind true Arabian hospitality.

After having a lavish feast, you will continue on a city tour during which you will visit the Dubai Museum, the Gold Souq and Spice Souq. You will then stop at the famous Dubai Creek to explore and take pictures. Next, you will head to the Abra Station, (water taxi ferry) for a short ride across the creek.

Finally, you will visit the 150 years old Al Fahidi Fort (Dubai Museum), which was built around 1787, and guarded the town. Renovated in 1971 for use as a museum, its colorful life size dioramas vividly depict everyday life in the days before the discovery of oil. Galleries recreate scenes from the Creek, traditional Arab houses, mosques, the souk, date farms and desert and marine life. One of the more spectacular exhibits portrays pearl diving, including sets of pearl merchants" weights, scales and sieves. Also on display are artifacts from several excavations in the emirate, recovered from graves that date back to the third millennium B.C.

Spending the evening aboard a traditional wooden Dhow, offers an intriguingly different view of this amazing city. You will see many other wooden vessels, which still brave the open seas to deliver its goods to faraway places, as well as super modern yachts and ships. Admire the architecture of places such as the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, the spectacular Chamber of Commerce building as well as Sheikh Saeed"s house & the Heritage Village. This full day tour is a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. It takes us through the Northern Emirate, passing through the Oasis town of Dhaid, renowned for its fruits and vegetables plantation. The journey continues on to Masafi, the picturesque village of the majestic Hajar Mountains, before reaching the village of Dibba. Driving along the narrow coastal strip, we proceed to Al Bidya Historic Mosque, the oldest mosque in the emirates, built in 1424. We take a short break at the resort area, Khor Fakkan, famous for its excellent beaches and water sport facilities. Lying in the south-eastern corner of the Arabian Peninsula - Fujairah, is the only emirate located on the Gulf of Oman rather than the Arabian Gulf. This emirate is naturally endowed with scenic beauty. The Hajar Mountains, forming a magnificent backdrop, provides a magical effect in every picture. While in Fujairah, we also stop at the ruins of the old fort and the old citadel of Bithna before returning to Dubai.

Abu Dhabi

After breakfast, you will head to Abu Dhabi, also called the "Manhattan of the Middle East, features large gardens and parks, green boulevards lining all the streets and roads, sophisticated high-rise buildings, international luxury hotel chains and opulent shopping malls. From desert safaris, hikes through cliffs lined with fossils and waterfalls, shopping in countless malls or relaxing on white sandy beaches, the possibilities are endless in Abu Dhabi!

Located in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the magnificent Emirates Palace is a national landmark and one of the most impressive hotels and conference venues ever built. Emirates Palace is constructed on 1.3 km of private white sandy beach and surrounded by 85 hectares of beautifully landscaped gardens. Enjoy an international buffet lunch in a truly exceptional setting - a must for any visit to Abu Dhabi.

After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your visit of the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the administrative center of the country!

You will start the tour by visiting the Women"s Handicraft Center, a rounded building featuring several huts where local women artists perform silver thread work and weaving. They also exhibit essential Arabic oils, incense, local dress and handmade crafts and - for a minimal fee - treat ladies to the famous traditional art of henna body painting. Photography is restricted and visitors are advised to remove their shoes before entering each hut, in conformity with the local tradition.

You will then continue on your way to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the largest mosque in the UAE, founded by the Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Badshahi Mosque inspired the layout and floor plan of the mosque and both Mughal and Moorish design inspired the architecture. Its archways are quintessentially Moorish and its minarets classically Arab. The carpet laid out on the vast expanse in the mosque is the "World's Largest Carpet". This mosque also holds the largest chandelier. There are seven imported chandeliers from Germany and are copper and gold-plated.

Abu Dhabi

After breakfast you will start your journey (approx. 2 hours) to the greenest part of all Emirates; Al-Ain, an oasis surrounded by red sand dunes, known as the "Garden City" and one of the oldest settlements in the region. The area boasts vegetable farms and date trees. You will pass by the Hili City, which is famous for its green gardens and visit the archaeological sites.

The next stop is for lunch at a hotel before continuing with the rest of the tour. After lunch, you will visit the largest camel market in the Middle East and proceed to the Museum next to the old fortress, where archaeological findings of the UAE's ancient settlement date back to the Iron and Bronze age.

Continue your trip to the most beautiful landscape in the area - Jebel Hafeet - the tallest mountain in the UAE. Check into the Wadi Adventure Park for some fun activities. Enjoy surfing, rafting, kayaking, climbing, wakeboarding and swimming.

After this exciting experience, return to your hotel in Abu Dhabi for overnight.

Spend your afternoon with a visit to the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital. A unique experience, allowing an insight into the fascinating world of falconry, which is an integral part of Emirati heritage. The visit includes both the Falconry Museum and the Hospital, where you may see live medical work in progress and will also have an up close and personal experience with the majestic falcon. Flight from Dubai to Muscat, Oman. Duration. Duration is approximately 1 hour.

Before getting to visa services, you will be met by a local representative and escorted to the plaza lounge where you will enjoy Omani hospitality. Hot or cold refreshments will be offered while the lounge executive completes the travel documents. You will then be escorted to the baggage hall and assisted with baggage and other customs formalities.
You will be transferred in private vehicle to your hotel, and assisted with check-in. Freshen up and get ready for your first Muscat experience!

In the afternoon, you will be taken to the Marina to embark on a relaxed dhow (fishermen"s boat) cruise. See the Muscat Coast through the eyes of ancient seafarers who plied this route for centuries. Have a brief stop at a natural cove. Photograph the spectacular Al Bustan Palace Hotel before returning to the Marina for the transfer to the hotel. After breakfast, you will be picked for a Muscat city tour! Your first stop will be at the Grand Mosque, the highlight of Muscat city.

Finished in 2001, the Grand Mosque is a beautiful modern building that harmoniously incorporates traditional architecture and decoration. The handmade carpets, the chandeliers and the ceiling of the great dome in the main prayer room are absolute 'must sees'. Please note: During your mosque tour, ladies should be fully covered and wearing a headscarf while men should wear trousers. Lecture by an Omani Scholar on Islam at Grand Mosque.

You will continue on to the Bait Al Zubair Museum where you will be given a brief introduction about Oman"s fascinating history and development. Drive along the waterfront cornice, visiting the bustling Muttrah Souq. You will proceed for a photo stop at the magnificent Al Alam Palace, the official palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani & Jalali.

Spend the afternoon at leisure exploring this incredible city at your own pace.

Al Hamra - Jebel Shams

Once you've had breakfast at the hotel, you will begin an exhilarating journey towards Al Hamra.

Drive through the date palms to the sparkling springs and Fort at Nakhl. Turn towards Wadi Bani Auf where this stretch of graded road is extremely adventurous, involving steep bends and bumpy roads. Visit the charming mountain village of Bilad Sayt where one is awestruck by the beauty of the landscape. This 40-mile stretch of road continues on to the village of Al Hamra, famous for its expansive date plantations.

Check in at hotel "The View, " located in the Jabal Shams Mountains, more specifically at Hail al Shas, 8. The Eco Luxe accommodation is remarkable with its wonderful panoramic view in which Al Hamra, Bilad Seit and Bahla are only a glimpse away.

After breakfast, you will proceed to visit Jabrin, the finest of Oman"s castles, built in the late 17th century. The vastle displays the highest achievement in Omani ceiling painting and beautifully executed woodcarvings. After taking a photo stop at the Bahla Fort, you will continue on to a pottery village where you will get a chance to work with the Omani artisans who will teach you how to make your very own pottery!

Visit Misfah, a pretty mountain village with stone dwellings still in existence. While heading for Jebel Shams, stop at the terrace farming village of Wadi Ghul. Drive to the spectacular gorge of Wadi Nakher where you will be presented with the most incredible views of towering mountains, including the Jebel Shams.

Wahiba Sands Desert

Today, you will drive to the famous Round Tower Fort, built in the 17th century, You will also visit its Souq, which is renowned for its Friday cattle auction, intricately hand-carved "Khanjars" (daggers) & ornamental silver jewelry.

Proceed in an easterly direction towards Wahiba Sands, a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand dunes rising up to 750 feet, which are also home to a variety of flora and fauna.Check in at the Desert Nights Camp.

Desert Nights offers a comfortable desert setting, six miles into the desert from Al Wasil in the Wahiba Sands region, just two hours drive away from Muscat. The rooms are set up as individual units in a Bedouin tent design with cement painted walls and canvas with screen tent shaped roof. Each unit offers a sitting room, bedroom, en suite bathroom and cozy sit-out with panoramic vistas across the golden sands.

Enjoy a barbecue dinner around the camp fire, breakfast and a short camel ride on the camp grounds at sunset with dune-top snack and soft drinks included. The property has a dining room, bar and a recreation room that offers board games, dartboard, chess set and DVD's. Muscat

After breakfast, you will be picked up from Desert Nights Camp and proceed to visit Bedouins in the wilderness. Enjoy the dune bashing experience before you head towards the clear deep blue waters that sit in Wadi Bani Khalid. The valley comprises of small pretty villages embedded in the mountains.

After having enjoyed your picnic in the Wadi, you will proceed to Sur. At Sur, you will find the renowned boatyards where dhows are still made to this day. Here, you will get a short briefing by an expert on traditional dhow building and a light lunch before continuing your tour on route to Muscat.

Visit the ruins of Bibi Miriam"s Tomb, seen at the village of Qalhat on the coastal road to Muscat. Enjoy the visit of Wadi Shaab before you proceed to Fins Beach. Your final stop is at the Bimah Sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with an incredible turquoise water at its base begging you to take a swim.

Return to Hotel for overnight in Muscat.

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
