Day 2
Dubai

After breakfast, begin your Dubai Old City tour day with a visit to Bastakiya, an area of Dubai on the Bur Dubai side of the Dubai Creek that date back to the 1890s, where residents originally earned money from pearl diving. Bastakiya is named after the Iranian town of Bastak - many of the original traders in Bastakia were from Iran. Receive an entertaining account of UAE"s history with Moez Toumi, an award winning trainer & guide in Dubai. The Bastakia Quarter, which squeezes itself between the Dubai Creek and the buzzing Bur Dubai district, is a mini maze of wind-towered buildings, a clutch of which have been transformed into art galleries and cafes.

At 1pm, you will be taken to enjoy a cultural lunch at The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, where you can experience the ambience of a traditional setting while learning the customs behind true Arabian hospitality.

After having a lavish feast, you will continue on a city tour during which you will visit the Dubai Museum, the Gold Souq and Spice Souq. You will then stop at the famous Dubai Creek to explore and take pictures. Next, you will head to the Abra Station, (water taxi ferry) for a short ride across the creek.

Finally, you will visit the 150 years old Al Fahidi Fort (Dubai Museum), which was built around 1787, and guarded the town. Renovated in 1971 for use as a museum, its colorful life size dioramas vividly depict everyday life in the days before the discovery of oil. Galleries recreate scenes from the Creek, traditional Arab houses, mosques, the souk, date farms and desert and marine life. One of the more spectacular exhibits portrays pearl diving, including sets of pearl merchants" weights, scales and sieves. Also on display are artifacts from several excavations in the emirate, recovered from graves that date back to the third millennium B.C.

Spending the evening aboard a traditional wooden Dhow, offers an intriguingly different view of this amazing city. You will see many other wooden vessels, which still brave the open seas to deliver its goods to faraway places, as well as super modern yachts and ships. Admire the architecture of places such as the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, the spectacular Chamber of Commerce building as well as Sheikh Saeed"s house & the Heritage Village. A sumptuous dinner is served while you cruise along. Savor the delicious taste of true Arabian hospitality. This unforgettable romantic evening cruise includes an international buffet dinner. Relax! Indulge! Enjoy (Buffet dinner with mineral water and return transfer to and from your hotel is included).
